I give the Xinachtli Project
approaches a solid E: they enrich, engross, and enthrall
our students in two languages. Besides the positive
experience of history, we have been able to utilize the
content and process in our math, science, and language
arts.

It's incredible how the different elements of the Aztec
Calendar integrate concepts in all subject areas including,
amazingly, the mathematical concept of pi and fractal
geometry.

Both my daughters have benefited from Xinachtli. Not only
have they have learned about their culture, but discovered
different and exciting ways to look at the world. I stand
behind what Mr. Aceves is doing with his cultural project
in the classroom.

Mr. Aceves teaches what could safely pass for a holistic,
multicultural approach, but it goes deeper by allowing his
students to experience culture as something that is dynamic
and interdisciplinary with a nurturing and egalitarian
worldview that places their history within a universal
context where being part of an ethnic group is a
reflection-not separation-of their humanity.
